Pest control and cleaning in Surajkund

Around Surajkund the city stops and the Aravalli scrub begins, so a house here shares its garden with the ridge: mosquitoes along the hedges, monkeys on the terrace, termites working through the wooden deck. We fog lawns, treat wood, protect tanks and deep clean large homes, and leave the wildlife to the forest department.

Big lawns and old trees also bring bees. Rock bees build large combs under eaves and on water tanks; we remove them at one fixed price a hive.

On the ridge: monkeys and other neighbours

Surajkund sits on the southern Delhi Ridge of the Aravallis. A Wildlife Institute of India camera-trap survey of the Faridabad and Gurgaon Aravallis, reported in 2017, recorded rhesus macaques, golden jackals, porcupines and wild pigs, and counted the area among the core habitat for leopards. Homes that back onto the scrub live alongside some of these.

Monkeys are the ones most likely to touch daily life: lifting loose tank lids, pulling at plants and cables, raiding terraces. Catching or relocating monkeys is a matter for the forest department and MCF; AHC doesn't do it. What we can do is make the house less inviting:

  • Tanks: fit a lid that locks or is weighted, and a mesh cap on the overflow and vent pipes. If monkeys have already been in, have the tank cleaned before you drink from it.
  • Balconies and verandas: a tougher net or steel mesh where monkeys pass, quoted after a free visit.
  • Food: keep kitchen waste and fruit trees cleared near the house.

Water in Surajkund

The Aravalli side of Faridabad sits on the city's deepest groundwater: FMDA put the water table at over 250 ft in most western pockets, against about 100 ft or less on the Yamuna side. Homes here often depend on borewells and tankers rather than the piped network alone.

Deep borewell and tanker water both leave scale and silt in a tank, and a roof tank on a ridge-side house has a second risk in monkeys lifting the lid. So:

  • Every 3 to 4 months if the tank fills from a borewell or tankers.
  • Straight away if the lid was off or monkeys got in.
  • Before a big event at home, when guests will use the water for days.

A clean scrubs and disinfects the tank; it doesn't change the borewell's water or end a shortage. Roof tank cleaning in Faridabad → · All Faridabad tank cleaning →

When the kund fills: monsoon and mosquitoes

Surajkund itself is a 10th-century reservoir with a semicircular stepped embankment, usually attributed to the Tomara king Surajpal. It fills in the monsoon and dries out by summer. Upstream is Anangpur Dam and downstream Peacock Lake, so the whole area holds rainwater in pockets after a heavy spell. Next door, in August 2026, water got inside homes in Dayal Bagh.

On a big lawn, standing water hides in planters, birdbaths, tarpaulins and the trays under potted plants. Our sequence for the monsoon:

  1. Walk the garden with you and empty or treat every container of water.
  2. Treat inside the house where mosquitoes rest: 3BHK ₹1,899, 4BHK ₹2,199.
  3. Thermal fogging of hedges and lawn at dusk, ₹1,199 a visit, before an evening gathering or weekly in peak season. Fogging kills the adult mosquitoes it reaches; it doesn't stop breeding.

February is different: the Surajkund International Crafts Mela has run every February since 1987, and its 39th edition opened on 3 February 2026. If you live by the mela ground, book visits for early in the day.
