Shampoo is then applied to lift embedded dirt, paired with a dust-mite treatment aimed at reducing mite activity on the surface. This sequence is the same regardless of size, though double mattresses take a little longer to complete.

Drying time and what is not covered

After cleaning, the mattress needs a few hours to dry before it is safe to use again, so it helps to plan the booking for a time when the bed can be left uncovered. Keeping the room ventilated speeds this up.
