This happens regardless of whether the source is DJB supply, a borewell or tanker water, though the pace of build-up differs — which is why DJB-fed tanks are usually fine every 6 months, borewell tanks need attention every 3 to 6 months, and tanker-filled tanks every 3 months.

The 9-step cleaning process
