Water Tank Cleaning in Delhi: what to know
Our tank cleaning follows a 9-step process covering draining, scrubbing the inner walls and base, removing sediment, and sanitising before refilling. For tanks on DJB supply, a cleaning roughly every 6 months is generally enough; homes relying on borewell water should plan for every 3 to 6 months, and tanker-fed tanks every 3 months, since sediment tends to build up faster with these sources.
Kothis with underground sumps as well as rooftop overhead tanks need both cleaned, and sump cleaning is always carried out by two technicians together since sump spaces are enclosed and narrow. Rooftop tank access in multi-floor kothis without a lift is factored into scheduling, as equipment and water need to be carried up manually.
After cleaning, we recommend letting the tank refill and running taps briefly before use. If your tank has a damaged lid or cracked inlet pipe, we'll point this out during the visit, though repairs themselves are outside our scope.
