SECTOR 57 AND SUSHANT LOK 3 · GURUGRAM (GURGAON) · PESTS, CLEANING, TANKS

Pest control and cleaning in Sector 57

Most of Sector 57 is Sushant Lok 3, a colony of plotted houses, builder floors and a few apartment blocks off Golf Course Extension Road, where a lot of old plots are now being rebuilt as new floors. Its water comes through the Sushant Lok 3 booster, topped up from a tubewell and by tankers, and its ground floors took water in the July 2024 flood, so our work here follows the weather and the building work.

Since May 2022 Sushant Lok 3 has been an MCG colony, so street drains and roads go to MCG. Everything behind your gate, from the sump to the floor traps, is yours to keep clean.

Water in Sector 57

Sector 57's piped water arrives through the Sushant Lok 3 booster station, which holds 63 lakh litres. In June 2026 its operator told Newslaundry that the flow meter tracking GMDA's supply had been broken for two years, and that the station draws extra water from a tubewell. Sector 57 is one of the city's tail-end areas, and it was already on a 2018 shortage list for Sectors 44, 56, 57 and 58.

When supply drops, tankers fill in. In May 2024 a Sector 57 tanker driver said he was getting 20 to 30 calls a day, that power cuts stopped him filling from borewells on time, and that the going rate was ₹1,500 a tanker, filling of rooftop tanks included.

What we suggest for a Sector 57 house:

  • Note the tanker dates. If tankers filled your roof tank more than a few times in a month, book the roof-tank clean when the tanker run ends, usually after June.
  • Clean the sump before the monsoon, so it isn't holding a summer's sediment when the rains test its lid.
  • Clean again after any flood (next section).

Cleaning takes out the silt, scale and biofilm stored in the tank. It doesn't repair the booster or bring more water. Method and sizes: cleaning tanks on mixed water in Gurugram.

After a flood: the July 2024 lesson

In July 2024 about 600 families in Sushant Lok 2 and 3 were hit when water stood three to four feet deep on the roads and went into ground floors and basements; a minister ordered a joint GMDA–MCG inspection. A month earlier, after the rain of 28 June, drains had been reported blocked in Sectors 56 and 57.

If water gets in again, this is the order we'd follow once it drains away:

  1. Sump first. Floodwater over a sump lid can carry drain water inside. Don't use that water; have the sump emptied, cleaned and disinfected.
  2. Ground-floor deep clean. Mud, silt and smell come out of floors, skirting and bathroom drains with a machine scrub, not a mop. Sanitization of the affected rooms follows.
  3. Drain-point pest treatment. Cockroaches pushed up by the water settle near floor traps within days; gel there plus a mosquito treatment for any leftover water in pots and coolers.
  4. Watch the wood. Door frames and wardrobes that stayed wet for days are where termites find it easiest later; ask for a termite inspection in the dry months.

New floors on old plots

In September 2024 The Tribune named Sector 57 among the sectors where old plots are being rebuilt as stilt-plus-four apartments in large numbers. Whatever you think of that, it changes what a house next door, or your own new floor, needs.

  • Before the slab: soil treatment against termites works best while the foundation is open. Once the floor is poured, the only option is drilling.
  • Before the keys: a new floor arrives with cement dust in window tracks, paint on tiles and grit in bathroom fittings. Post-construction cleaning is priced 25% above a normal deep clean because it takes longer.
  • Timing: GRAP restrictions in the smog months can stop dusty work across NCR, Gurugram included, so leave room in the schedule between finishing and cleaning.
  • Next door's dust is your problem too: fine dust gets in through every gap. A Home Refresh with balconies after the neighbouring work ends brings it back to normal.

Sector 57: your questions

Is Sushant Lok 3 the same as Sector 57?
Most of Sector 57 is Sushant Lok 3 and its extension, so yes, we treat them as one area. Give us your block when you book.
Water came into our ground floor during the rain. What should we book first?
The sump, if water reached its lid. Then a deep clean and sanitization of the wet rooms, and pest treatment at the floor traps a few days later.
We're rebuilding our plot. When should anti-termite treatment happen?
At foundation stage, before the plinth and floor are laid. Book it with your contractor's schedule so the soil is still open.
How often should our tanks be cleaned if we use tankers in summer?
Roof tanks every 3 to 4 months on mixed water, plus one clean once the tanker season ends. Sumps before the monsoon and after any flood.
Sector 57 Gurgaon mein naya floor bana hai, safai kab karwayein?
Jab saara kaam khatam ho jaaye aur painters chale jaayein, tab. Post-construction cleaning mein cement ki dhool, paint ke daag aur fittings ki safai hoti hai.
