Water in DLF Phase 2

The complaints are old ones. In 2018 a HUDA official told The Week that complaints about supply in DLF City were true, explaining that the phases are far from the Basai treatment plant and their booster pumps weren't working properly. Phase 2 was on The Tribune's 2023 list of areas reporting supply problems, on the March 2023 list for a 30-hour shutdown of the Sector 16 pumping-station main, and in May 2024 GMDA again named DLF Phases 1 and 2 among its poor-supply areas.

For a landlord that means the sump and roof tank fill from more than one source over a year, and sediment settles each time. Clean them at least every 3 to 4 months while you're topping up from tankers, and always between tenants. Cleaning deals with what sits inside the tank: silt, slime and stale water. It can't fix the supply or what arrives through the pipe.

Between tenants: the handover jobs

When a floor in DLF Phase 2 changes hands, these are the jobs worth booking, in this order.

  1. Move-out deep clean, empty flat. Kitchen cabinets inside and out, bathroom tiles and fittings, window tracks, fans, switchboards, and machine-scrubbed floors. ₹4,199 for a 2BHK, ₹5,199 for a 3BHK.
  2. Bed bug check. If the last tenant left a bed or sofa behind, inspect it before the next one moves in. Treatment is two visits: ₹1,799 for a 1BHK, ₹2,199 for a 2BHK.
  3. Tank and sump. The new tenant's first question is usually about the water. A cleaned tank with dated photos answers it.
  4. Move-in Ready Pack. Empty-home deep clean, general pest control and an overhead tank clean together: ₹4,999 for a 2BHK instead of ₹6,297 booked separately.

Booking around an office day

Many Phase 2 residents are at a desk in Cyber City or on the far side of NH-48 by nine. Cockroach and general pest treatments need the kitchen and bathrooms emptied. Your home doesn't need to be vacated, but some treatments need you to stay away from the treated area for a while; your technician tells you exactly how long, so a morning slot with you back by evening works well. A 2BHK deep clean takes 5 to 7 hours, so the team starts early. If you'd rather not wait at home, a neighbour or a building caretaker can let the team in, and we send photos of each room as it's finished.

Why is the water in our tank so muddy after a tanker?
Tanker and tubewell water often carry more sediment than piped supply, and it settles in the tank. A tank clean removes it; it doesn't change what the next tanker brings.
Is same-day possible in DLF Phase 2?
Usually, when you book before 12 pm. A full deep clean needs a morning start, so book it a day ahead if you can.
