Water in DLF Phase 3

In January 2023, after a breach in the NCR channel, DLF Phase 3's V block was among the parts of Gurugram left without water, and tankers doubled their rates. The phase was on The Tribune's May 2023 list of areas with supply problems as well.

Weeks of tanker water leave a layer of sediment in sumps and tanks, and a sump that sits empty for days dries out and grows a film on the walls. After a dry spell, clean the sump before you start relying on it again, then every 3 to 4 months while tanker or tubewell water is in the mix. A clean empties and scrubs the tank and removes what has settled; it has no effect on how much water reaches the colony or on what is in the supply.

After the rain: ground floors and basements

In July 2025, rain got into houses, basements and ground floors in DLF Phase 3, as it did in Sushant Lok and Palam Vihar; a residents' leader said most residential drains hadn't been cleaned since 2023. Low-lying houses in Phases 1 and 3 flooded in July 2021 too. If water came in, this is the order we suggest.

Check the sump first. If rainwater could have run over the lid, don't use it until it's cleaned. Sumps up to 3,000 L cost ₹1,499.
Clean the floor, then the bathroom. A deep clean lifts the silt and scrubs grout and corners. For a furnished 1BHK it's ₹3,299; a single bathroom clean is ₹549.
Expect cockroaches and mosquitoes. Damp rooms draw cockroaches up from drains, and standing water breeds mosquitoes within days. Mosquito treatment for a 1BHK is ₹1,399.
Sanitize surfaces if dirty water touched them. A 1BHK sanitization costs ₹1,199.

Cleaning won't dry out walls or fix seepage; that's work for a mason or plumber.

I rent one room. Is it worth treating just my unit for cockroaches?

It helps. Give the treatment 2–4 weeks to work; if cockroaches are still active after that, call or WhatsApp us and we revisit free. Treating the whole building in the same week lasts longer, so ask your landlord.

Rainwater came into our ground floor. What should we book first?

The sump, if water could have reached it, then a deep clean of the floor and bathrooms. Mosquito treatment is worth adding a few days later.

Our sump was dry for days and now the water smells. Will a clean fix it?

A clean removes the film and sediment inside the tank, which often causes the smell. If the smell is in the supply itself, report it to the water authority.
