Pest control and cleaning in Sector 56

In June 2026, Newslaundry listed Sector 56 among Gurugram's tail-end areas, the last neighbourhoods on the GMDA network to get water. An operator said tubewells here run 15 to 16 hours at a stretch to make up for it. In Sushant Lok 2's D Block, one resident needed a tanker three times in April and once in May, once paying ₹1,500 for 1,000 litres. The Sushant Lok 2 RWA put typical rates at ₹700–1,000 for 4,000 litres delivered into an underground tank, and ₹1,500–2,000 when it goes into an overhead tank. Sectors 55, 56 and 57 were also named for erratic supply in May 2024.

So one tank in Sector 56 can hold canal water from GMDA, tubewell water and tanker water in the same week. Here's how we'd look after it:

• Overhead tanks filled straight from a tanker skip the sump altogether, so whatever settles in the tanker settles in your roof tank. Clean these every 3 months in a tanker-heavy summer.
• Sumps on mixed water: every 3 to 4 months, and once more after the summer tanker season ends.
• Ask for the before-and-after photos. If silt comes back fast, it tells you which source to watch.

City-wide, groundwater extraction in Gurugram Urban stood at 326.52% in the CGWB's 2024 assessment, and some society tubewells have already failed as the water table dropped, so the tubewell share of your water may grow, not shrink.
