Water in Palam Vihar
At the end of March 2024, homes in Blocks B, C and D got dirty, foul-smelling water for three days; in some parts sewage was mixing into the drinking-water line through a leak, and supply had been short for about two weeks. GMDA put the low supply down to filter cleaning at the Basai plant, and the RWA took the complaint to MCG. Palam Vihar was also among the areas reporting supply problems in May 2023.
Palam Vihar is part of GMDA's smart-water pilot too: since 2020, 39 underground tanks across Palam Vihar and Sectors 21 and 22 on the Basai–Dundahera line have been monitored under it.
If dirty water ever reaches your tanks again, the order matters:
- Stop using the stored water for drinking and tell the RWA and MCG, because a leaking line is theirs to repair.
- Wait for clean supply to return. Cleaning a tank while the line is still contaminated just refills it with the same water.
- Then empty, clean and disinfect the sump and the roof tank so the old water and the sludge it left are gone. GMDA itself has told Gurugram RWAs to disinfect stored water before supply, after a 2022 case in another society.

Monsoon in Palam Vihar
After the rain of 28 June 2024, Palam Vihar was listed among Gurugram's waterlogged locations, and drains were reported blocked in C1 and C2 blocks. When a drain backs up, three things follow inside a ground-floor home within a week or two:
- Cockroaches come up through floor traps that the backed-up drain has pushed open. Gel at each trap and a spray along the skirting stop them settling in.
- Mosquitoes breed in what the water left behind: pot saucers, cooler trays, a sump lid that sits low. Empty those first, then book mosquito control for the house.
- Wet floors and walls need a proper clean, not a mop. A deep clean of the ground floor with bathroom and kitchen drains scrubbed out is the right job once the water has gone.
If water stood over or around your sump lid, get the sump cleaned before you use that water again.

On the Delhi edge
Palam Vihar faces Delhi more than the rest of Gurugram does. The Bijwasan border lies to the north, the Old Delhi–Gurgaon Road runs past it, and the northern sectors of the Dwarka Expressway (110 to 113) sit right beside it. Manipal Hospital and Rezang La Marg are local landmarks, and Carterpuri, Dharam Colony and Ashok Vihar are its neighbours.
