A new kitchen, a rebuilt builder floor, marble floors ground and polished: Delhi renovations leave fine dust in every track and drawer, cement and paint on the tiles, and grey slurry along the skirting. We vacuum first, scrape and solvent-clean the marks, then clean ceiling to floor.

Renovation cleaning in Delhi: what to know

In much of Delhi, the "new" home is a rebuilt one. Old kothis in Rohini, Pitampura, Punjabi Bagh and South Delhi come down and go up again as stilt-plus-four builder floors, sold one floor at a time, and the buyer of each floor inherits whatever the site team left behind: cement splashes on vitrified tiles, paint drops on the glass, putty dust in every window channel, stickers on every fitting. Older flats and kothis get partial renovations: a new modular kitchen, re-done bathrooms, or marble floors ground and re-polished, which leaves a grey slurry in the corners and along the skirting.

The order matters. Fine dust is vacuumed first, before anything is wiped, or it turns to a muddy film on the tiles. Then the marks: flat blades held level on glass and glazed tiles, solvent for paint, and on marble and Kota stone a neutral cleaner only, because acids etch it. Then the full clean, ceiling to floor, with the floors machine-scrubbed last.

Book it once the last painter and carpenter have left and the debris is gone (removing rubble is the contractor's job). In a builder floor, tell us whether the building's lift is working and whether the staircase is still being finished; we plan the equipment around it.

Winter, GRAP and your final clean

When Delhi's air turns severe, usually between November and January, CAQM invokes GRAP Stage III, banning non-essential construction and demolition across the NCR. Plumbing, electrical work, carpentry and interior finishing can continue, but painting, polishing and varnishing are excluded. So a renovation that was meant to finish in November can stall at the paint or polish stage. Book the final clean for after the last coat and the last polish, not for the original date; cleaning before them means cleaning twice.

Post-construction cleaning in Delhi: your questions

How much does cleaning after renovation cost in Delhi?
The deep-clean price plus 25%, including GST: about ₹5,199 for a 2BHK, empty or furnished. Send photos for a fixed price.
Can you clean marble polishing slurry?
Yes, with water and a neutral cleaner; never acid on marble.
Do you remove construction debris?
No. Rubble and leftover material are the contractor's job; we clean once they're out.
Can you clean while GRAP restrictions are on?
Cleaning isn't construction, so yes, but wait until the painting and polishing are actually finished.
