Pest control and cleaning in Punjabi Bagh

Punjabi Bagh began as a refugee colony on Madipur village land and took its present name in 1960, and many of its kothis on 280 to 550 sq yd plots still stand on their first wooden frames. AHC looks after these large houses and the builder floors that replaced some of them, from the underground sump and the lawn to the kitchen and the woodwork, at a fixed price including GST.

Water in Punjabi Bagh, East and West

Punjabi Bagh gets its water from DJB's Punjabi Bagh UGR and booster station, and the two sides of the Ring Road run on slightly different clocks. DJB's published timings give West Punjabi Bagh, Shivaji Park and Punjabi Bagh Extension water from 4:30 to 8 am and 5:30 to 7:30 pm; the East Punjabi Bagh blocks get 4:30 to 8 am and 5 to 7:30 pm.

In 2026 the supply was interrupted by work on the Khyala main. DJB's interconnection of a new 900 mm main at two sites in Punjabi Bagh disrupted water on 23 and 24 July 2026 across parts of the Punjabi Bagh command area, Rajouri Garden and Tilak Nagar. A valve repair on the same Khyala header was reported to affect the Punjabi Bagh UGR area again on 20 August 2026, from 10 am to 4 pm.

A kothi usually stores water twice, in an underground sump and a tank on the roof, so a shutdown means both are drawn low and then refilled fast, which stirs up whatever lies on the floor. The best time to clean both is a week or two after supply settles. For DJB water alone, twice a year is enough. Sumps cost ₹1,199 up to 1,500 litres, ₹1,999 up to 5,000 litres and ₹2,799 up to 10,000 litres, always with two technicians; roof tanks start at ₹699. Prices include GST. A tank clean removes settled silt and film; it does not change what DJB supplies. More on.

Old kothi or rebuilt floors

The colony dates from the years after 1947, so its oldest houses are 60 to 75 years old. Some still stand as built; many plots have been rebuilt as builder floors, and owners often keep the original wooden door frames, stair railings or almirahs when they do.

That history decides the order of jobs. In an original kothi, start with a free inspection of the woodwork: hollow-sounding frames, mud tubes along the skirting and fine powder under furniture point to termites or wood borer. Wood borer treatment starts at ₹1,499 a set. Then book the deep clean, so the clean isn't followed by drilling dust.

In a new builder floor, the risk sits below the slab. If the plot is about to be rebuilt, ask for pre-construction anti-termite treatment before the foundation is laid. In a finished floor, the first job is usually the kitchen: a large modular kitchen deep clean is ₹1,799.

Lawns and gardens on big plots

Plots of 550 sq yd and more often keep a lawn, hedges and potted plants. Those are where adult mosquitoes rest in the day, and where saucers, fountains and blocked garden drains hold water after rain. For a home garden, thermal fogging of the lawn, terrace and drains is ₹1,199 a visit, done at dusk when mosquitoes are active. Fogging clears adults outside. Inside the house, book mosquito control (₹1,899 for a 3BHK), which treats the places they breed and rest indoors.

If you're hosting a function at home, book the fogging for the evening before.
