Pest control and cleaning in Shalimar Garden

Many Shalimar Garden buildings keep shops at street level and family flats on the floors above, often drinking from one shared roof tank. AHC cleans that tank for the whole building, treats the flats and the shop for cockroaches and mosquitoes together, and deep cleans after the rain sends drain water where it shouldn't go.

Shalimar Garden homes: what we see

Shalimar Garden began developing in the late 1960s, and by the early 1970s local developers were building on what had been farmland. It grew into three municipal wards, all in the Mohan Nagar Zone. Addresses here usually read as a flat number on a numbered plot, which tells you the building type: a low-rise block of floors, often with shops below. Raj Bagh on the Red Line is the nearest metro station, and Rajendra Nagar and Sahibabad lie to the east.

On the dengue list

When Ghaziabad's health department published its dengue "highly sensitive" areas on 7 October 2025, both Shalimar Garden and New Shalimar Garden were on it, along with neighbouring Rajbagh and Sahibabad. That was the 2025 list, not a current one, but it's a good reason to take breeding spots seriously here.

In a builder-floor building, breeding spots are often shared: the roof tank's lid and overflow, the terrace drain, water standing on a shop's back step or in a cooler on someone else's floor. Treating one flat helps that flat. Treating the building in the same week, with the roof and the stairwell included, helps everyone in it.

What we do on a mosquito visit here: check the terrace, tank lid, drains and coolers; empty or treat standing water; spray resting spots indoors; and point out the breeding spots each family needs to clear. For the lane outside or a large terrace, thermal fogging is ₹1,199 a visit. Fog kills adult mosquitoes; breeding spots still need clearing by hand.

Water in Shalimar Garden

Supply comes from the municipal corporation's Mohan Nagar Zone. In a builder-floor building it usually goes up by motor into one roof tank shared by every floor, or one tank per floor side by side on the terrace. Either way, every family drinks from a tank they don't fully control, so agree a cleaning date as a building, every six months.

In October 2026 the mayor announced four underground reservoirs for the Mohan Nagar zone, with Shalimar Garden one of the four sites (the others are Bridge Vihar, Mohan Nagar and Shivpuri). Together they are meant to help about 20,000 people by storing water for the morning and evening peaks and keeping local supply going when the network is disrupted. No timeline was given.

That reservoir is about how much water arrives and when. Your roof tank still collects sediment and needs cleaning on its own schedule, and a tank clean, in turn, can't change what the supply brings in.

Shops below, homes above

On 10 July 2026, a day after the municipal corporation cleared the roads, basements in several Shalimar Garden buildings were still under water. On 4 September 2026 water stood on roads and in a park here. Two days later, traders around SM World Mall protested that even light rain floods the area and sends drain water into their shops, with losses running into lakhs.

When drain water gets into a shop or a basement, the floor needs more than a mop:

  • Machine-scrub and disinfect the floor and the lower walls, then the shutter channel and the back step where water sits longest.
  • Sanitize counters, handles and switches the water or wet hands touched.
  • Check stock areas for rats and cockroaches over the following weeks; both move when drains back up, and in a mixed building they can travel from the shop to the flats through shared walls and pipes.
  • Treat the shop and the flats above in the same visit so pests don't simply move upstairs.

We work after closing time or before opening, so the shop doesn't lose a trading day.

Shalimar Garden: your questions

Do you cover Extension-I, Extension-II and New Shalimar Garden?
Yes, and Shalimar Garden Main. Tell us the plot and flat number when you book; it's how addresses work here.
Our building shares one roof tank. Who should book the clean?
Any one owner can book for the building. We need roof access and the motor switched off for the clean, and we send the photos to whoever booked so they can share them with the other floors.
Drain water came into our shop. What should we book first?
A deep clean of the floor and lower walls with sanitization, done after closing. Then watch for rats and cockroaches over the next few weeks.
We were on the dengue list last year. Is spraying our flat enough?
It helps your flat. The bigger gain comes from clearing the shared spots: the terrace, the tank lid, drains and every cooler in the building. We check those on a mosquito visit.
Is this Shalimar Bagh in Delhi?
No. Shalimar Garden is in Ghaziabad, PIN 201005, across the border from Dilshad Garden. Delhi's Shalimar Bagh has its own page, and we cover both.
Neeche dukaan hai, upar ghar. Cockroach dono jagah se aate hain, kya karein?
Dukaan aur upar ke flat ek hi visit mein treat karwaiye, warna cockroach bas upar chale jaate hain. 2BHK ke liye ₹1,249, GST ke saath.
