Water in Sector 61

In every Sector 61 society the Noida Authority's supply ends at the society reservoir. The AOA or the maintenance agency runs the underground tanks and the tanks on each block from there, so the cleaning schedule is theirs. In societies of this age, it's worth asking the facility office three questions: when the tanks were last cleaned, whether the lids and vents are intact, and whether they kept photos.

If the answer is vague, your AOA can ask us for a free survey and a written quote; underground tanks are always worked by two technicians. Second-decade societies

Parsvnath Gardenia was handed over in July 2008. A flat that has been lived in for well over a decade has its own pattern:

Cockroaches that come back. In older blocks they live in the kitchen duct, the shaft and behind the hob, and walk back in after a spray. We use gel in hinges and gaps, treat floor traps, and tell you which shaft openings to raise with the AOA. A 2BHK costs ₹1,249.
Grease that has set hard on tiles, the chimney hood and cabinet edges. A kitchen deep clean is ₹1,499, ₹1,799 for a large L or U kitchen. Empty the cabinets first; our team doesn't handle utensils.
Grout and scale in bathrooms that have never been properly descaled: ₹549 a bathroom, 2 for ₹949.
A plan instead of one-offs. Shield 365 for a 2BHK is ₹4,999 a year for four pest treatments, free call-backs and a termite check, which suits flats where cockroaches keep returning.

Flat-shares next to the IT belt

Sector 61 adjoins Sector 62, with its IT parks and institutes, and has its own Blue Line station, opened in March 2019. Flats shared by colleagues change hands often, and beds, mattresses and sofas move with them. That is how bed bugs usually travel.

Before a new flatmate's bed comes in, check the old one: dark spots on seams, shed skins, bites in a line.
