The licence AHC holds

In India, insecticides are regulated under the Insecticides Act, 1968 and the Insecticides Rules, 1971. A pest control company can't simply buy chemicals and start treating homes: the Rules have a separate section for pest control operators, sub-rule (3-A) of Rule 10, added in 1999. It says:

  • "A licence to stock and use insecticides for pest control operators will be issued in Form VI-C."
  • The person applying "should be at least a graduate in Agriculture or in Science with Chemistry as a subject with a certificate of minimum 15 days training" from one of three named national institutes.

AHC's licence is held by Sanjeev Kumar, Founder. It lets us store insecticides at our premises and use them in customers' homes and businesses.

What our licence does not cover: fumigation with aluminium phosphide or methyl bromide (used for grain godowns and export cargo). The same rule asks for a different licence, in Form VI-A, plus special permission from the Plant Protection Adviser to the Government of India. AHC does not offer fumigation; where a site needs it, we work alongside your licensed fumigation agency.

We work in Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida and Ghaziabad under one pest control licence.

How to check any product yourself

You can verify what goes into your home in about five minutes, whether it's our product or anyone else's.

  1. Ask for the product list. Every AHC photo report names each product used on your visit. If another company won't name its products, treat that as an answer.
  2. Read the label. A registered product's label and leaflet show its brand name, the active ingredient and its strength, the manufacturer, the registration number, the dose, the pests it is approved against, and first-aid advice. If the pest you're being treated for isn't on the label, ask why the product is being used.
  3. Look it up. CIB&RC is part of the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage, under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. Its section of ppqs.gov.in publishes the lists of registered products and the uses each active ingredient is approved for. Search by the active ingredient on the label.

When you can go back into a room

Your home doesn't need to be vacated for pest control. Some treatments need you to stay away from the treated area for a recommended time; your technician tells you exactly how long for the treatment used.

  • On the day, your technician tells you, room by room, when you can go back in, and the same advice is written on your photo report.
  • Gel in cracks and hinges: leave the dots alone so they keep working.
  • Sprayed rooms stay closed for as long as your technician advises, then get aired with windows open and fans on before the family, pets or food go back in.
  • Fogged areas stay clear until the technician says so; for indoor cold fogging, the room is ventilated before anyone re-enters.
  • Treated edges and skirting shouldn't be mopped for as long as your technician advises.
  • Cover fish tanks and keep pets away from the treated area while it dries.

If anyone feels unwell after a treatment, leave the room, open the windows, see a doctor and show them the product label. Call us on 97111 11086 and we'll send the label and leaflet straight away.

What our team does on the day

  • You get a short prep list on WhatsApp. Please empty the cabinets and drawers to be treated, and pack away food, utensils, toothbrushes and toys. Our team doesn't handle your utensils or food.
  • Tell us about babies, anyone pregnant, anyone with asthma, elderly family members and every pet, so the technician can plan gel and targeted treatment around them.

During the visit

  • Technicians wear gloves, a mask, goggles and shoe covers, and mix only the amount the job needs, at the label dose.
  • Dogs and cats stay in an untreated room. Aquariums are covered and their air pumps switched off; birds are moved to a closed room away from the treated area.
  • We treat one room at a time, so the family can wait in another.
  • No open spraying where food is cooked or stored: kitchens get gel inside hinges and gaps.

Before we leave

  • Windows are opened and the treated rooms aired.
  • Empty containers, used gloves and packaging leave with us; nothing is left in your bin.
  • You get the photo report: products used, how long to keep away from each treated room, and your follow-up or warranty date.
